Name: Andrea Donna de Matteo Character Name: Gina Tribbiani D.O.B: 1973 Place of Birth:
Queens, New York City, New York, USA Height: 5' 6" (1.68 m)
Interesting Facts:
Grauduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. At NYU, she originally intended to study to be a director, but got attention
for her acting. Has an AC/DC tattoo. Her character on The Sopranos was orignally written for only one episode. Says
the producers for The Sopranos likes the way she said, "Al" like "Awl". Has her mother's, father's and grandmother's names
tattooed onto her body. Drea's father was a furniture manufacturer and her mother was a playwright. She was raised in Queens
primarily by her grandmother and a Nicaraguan nanny. She now takes care of her nanny, who had a heart transplant. Owns
Filth Mart - a clothing store in Manhattan
Drea de Matteo's unique blend of Italian-American sensuality and unpretentious rock & roll-girl chic has found
her ascending the ranks to become one of Hollywood's hottest stars. Though de Matteo's role on The Sopranos was originally
intended to be little more than a one-time appearance, her undeniable screen presence soon found her returning to the role
of Jersey girl-turned-Mafioso moll Adriana La Cerva in the popular HBO crime drama. Oddly enough, it was stage legend Andrew
Lloyd Webber who first sparked showbiz aspirations in the Queens native. When de Matteo was around ten years old, Rum Tum
Tugger whisked her on-stage during a performance of Webber's enduring stage musical Cats; the jarring experience proved alternately
petrifying and compelling for de Matteo, and the intoxicating glow of the spotlight immediately cast its spell on the young
showbiz hopeful. With a mother who worked as a screenwriter, young de Matteo was no stranger to the business, and though she
would become something of a wild child during her teens, she never lost sight of her starstruck dreams. When it came time
to pursue higher education, she set her sights on N.Y.U.'s Tisch School of the Arts. Though de Matteo initially intended to
become a director, her acting talents quickly caught the eyes of casting agents. Drea does have an BFA from NYU's Tisch School
of the Arts in film production though.
In 1996, de Matteo made her feature debut in the romantic comedy The "M" Word,
and though the film would go largely unseen, her next role provided just the breakthrough needed to boost her career. Though
the actress never expected her part in The Sopranos to go beyond one episode, the casting agents were quick to make her a
regular player on the Emmy-winning series. Subsequent roles in such independent films as Meet Prince Charming (1999) and Sleepwalk
(2000) gained little more attention than The "M" Word had, but de Matteo was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of working with
Bad Lieutenant director Abel Ferrara when she appeared in the director's 2001 crime drama 'R Xmas. If de Matteo's feature
career had gone virtually unnoticed by mainstream filmgoers to this point, roles in such wide releases as Swordfish (2001)
and Deuces Wild (2002) soon found her star rising. In 2003, she was finally given the opportunity to live out her rock-star
dreams by strumming the bass in director Alex Steyermark's musical drama Prey for Rock & Roll. An association with actress
Jenny McCarthy (whom de Matteo had previously acted alongside in 2001's The Perfect You) next led to an appearance opposite
the former MTV girl and Playboy Playmate in the 2003 romantic comedy Dirty Love. In 2004, de Matteo went back in front of
the camera for Steyermark in the true-crime drama West Memphis Three (which was inspired by the events covered in the documentary
Paradise Lost). The following year, de Matteo could be seen in prominent roles in Ferrara's Go Go Tales and the action remake
Assault on Precinct 13.
If acting wasn't enough, Drea co-owns the ultra hip East Village boutique Filth Mart with her
long time boyfriend. They also have their own denim line. And during her downtime Drea always goes back to HB Studios where
her mother has taught playwriting for over 25 years. She and her mother, Donna De Matteo, are always developing and looking
for new writers and projects as well as working on their own material for the stage of the HB Playwrights Foundation-Drea's
"home base."
Role in the show:
Drea plays Gina Tribianni, Joey's sister, an attractive hairdresser living in Los Angeles with her son, whom is a rocket
scientist. She is blessed with the standard Tribbiani family's good looks. It seems she also has a way with the men similar
to Joeys way with women. She may speak her mind at the wrong times but is almost certainly smarter than Joey. It seems that
she was wild until the birth of her son which has dragged her wild side down. Joey and her seem to have a very strong yet
playful bond which seems one that will not be broken.

Often described as a dead ringer for Jerry Seinfeld with Kramer hair, Paulo Costanzo made his mark as a movie actor in
teen comedies in the early 2000s. Native Canadian Costanzo began performing in high school, starring in his school's production
of West Side Story. Further cutting his thespian teeth in Toronto theater, Costanzo subsequently moved to TV roles after high
school. Along with such lighter TV movies as The Don's Analyst (1997) and My Date With the President's Daughter (1998), Costanzo
played a Jewish teen hiding from the Germans during World War II in Rescuers: Stories of Courage (1997). Adding science fiction
to the mix, Costanzo also became a regular on the TV series Animorphs (1998) and Psi Factor (1999).
Costanzo got his
major movie break when he was cast as a stoner friend who comes along for the titular expedition in the outrageous comedy
hit Road Trip (2000). Continuing to act in high-profile youth-oriented movie projects, Costanzo next played the Pussycats'
loyal road manager in the screen adaptation of Josie and the Pussycats (2001). Despite its hyped release and attempts to send
up itself and teen-consumer culture, however, Josie and the Pussycats failed to catch on with the target audience. Costanzo
had relatively better box-office luck with the romantic comedy 40 Days and 40 Nights (2002). As Josh Hartnett's roommate,
Costanzo was on hand to provide humorous commentary regarding Hartnett's quest to abstain from sex for the eponymous time
span. ~ Lucia Bozzola, All Movie Guide
Role in the show
Paulo plays Michael Tribianni, Joeys nephew, who is a very intelligent 21 year-old rocket scientist. He is supposed
to be appealingly attractive yet in an unobvious way. He certainly doesn't know he is attractive and is not at all
streetsmart and infact is almost the opposite of Joey himself. In the show he is attending graduate school.
