Episode 7 - Joey And The Husband Airdate - October 21st 2004
Viktor, the Russian owner of the salon that Gina works at, tells all of her clients that
she is vacationing, and instead sends them to his daughter who isn’t very good with hair. Alex’s husband Eric,
who plays in an orchestra, thinks that his wife hanging out with a single guy (Joey) is weird, so Joey visits Gina at her
salon to ask her about it. Later when Joey meets the husband in the hot tub, Eric mentions that Joey doesn’t threaten
him at all. This upsets Joey, which leads to him into trying to make Eric jealous.
Episode 6 - Joey And The Nemesis Airdate - October 14th 2004
Throughout the episode, Joey is auditioning for various roles. At the first audition,
he forgets his script. When one lady refuses to let him read hers a guy name Brian Michael Scott offers to share his because
he reveals that he’s a big fan of Dr. Drake Ramoray. They quickly become friends, but “Bri-Mi” as he calls
himself, is actually befriending Joey to get him out of his way because they compete against each other for a lot of roles.
On one audition, he lies to Joey telling him that the casting director is deaf and suggests that he scream his lines. Joey
believes him, takes his advice, and loses the audition. When he tries to fool him again, Joey doesn’t fall for it and
yells at Brian Michael for what he did. Bri Mi apologizes, but ends up locking Joey in a closet so that he can’t audition.
Meanwhile, Michael is sick, and Joey tries to cover up for him, because he knows how motherly Gina can be. She doesn’t
buy that Joey is sick (How did you EVER become an actor?) and sends Michael to bed immediately. One night, Joey goes into
Gina’s room and crawls into her bed. Minutes later, Gina’s boyfriend (Who she didn’t tell anyone about)
joined Joey in the bed, thinking that he was Gina. This is followed by a lot of arguing and yelling. Then Joey asks Gina why
she didn’t tell Michael about her boyfriend, Roger. Gina explains that Michael has always been jealous of Gina’s
boyfriends, so she never does anything for herself (Joey points to her chest, “So those are for Michael?) Finally, Joey
convinces her to tell him. When she does, Michael acts sad although he’s actually happy that she won’t be worrying
about him all the time. Michael pretends to like Michael to please Gina, despite the fact that he’s an idiot who’s
hobby I jeans, and he plans to chop off his pinky toe, and sue someone to win money in court. Finally, Michael and Joey decide
that they should tell Gina that she deserves better, so she dumps Roger, or the “wang” as she calls him. Also,
Joey worries about coyotes, and Gina and Alex fight over a parking space.
Episode 5 - Joey And The Perfect Storm Directed by: David Schwimmer Airdate -
October 7th 2004
Joey auditions for Shakespeare's Richard III, but is disappointed when he only recieves
the understudy role of Henry. Michael uses a Lou Gehrig story to convince Joey that an understudy role is a great possibility
for him. Joey goes overboard and auditions for three understudys. Unfortunately, all the plays are on the same night, and
all the actors are sick. With the help of his agent, Bobbie, Joey figures out how to make it work, and even uses Michael's
Lou Gehrig story to convicne one fo the actor's to go on even though he's sick. While he isn't struggling to learn his lines,
Joey is helping Michael keep a secret from Gina. An apartment in the complex becomes available and Joey and Michael do everything
they can to keep her from seeing the "For Rent" sign in hopes that she won't want to move in. In the end, Howard tells Gina
about the available apartment, but Gina admits that she's actually having fun living alone, so the apartment is rented out
to a girl who just moved from New York.
Episode 4 - Joey And The Book Club Airdate - September 30th 2004
Michael joins a book club, and develops a crush on one of its members, Jane. Joey also
becomes interested in the club, but only for the women, and ends up joining as well. However, "Pride and Prejudice" is too
long to keep Joey's attention, and Michael gets tired of losing girls to his cooler uncle, whom he refers to as a "sex blob."
Episode 3 - Joey And The Party Airdate - September 23rd 2004
Being in a new town, Joey finds it difficult to make new friends. One of his
neighbors, Jake, he considers as a potential friend, but he's only seen him by the mailbox and hardly ever gets a chance to
talk to him. Gina suggests that he and Michael throw a party and invite everyone in the building, so he can meet a few people.
So, Joey invites Jake to the party. While on the phone with his college friend Seth, Michael mentions the party. Thinking
he was only joking, Michael invites him to the party, but not only does Seth come; he brings a date, Molly Wintle. Michael
has always felt overshadowed by Seth, and now that Seth has a girlfriend and he doesn't, he feels even worse. To keep Michael
from cancelling on the party, Gina offers to pretend to be Michael's girlfriend. Joey and Alex find it weird for Gina to pretend
to be Michael's date, so Alex volunteers. While worrying that Jake won't show, Joey meets another tenant in his building,
Howard. Howard is a big fan of Joey's and of Days Of Our Lives, but he's a little weird and gets over-excited very easily.
When Jake shows up, Gina flirts with him, not knowing who he is. Joey gets jealous when Jake would rather spend more time
with his sister than with him. Meanwhile, Alex and Michael come to the conclusion that Seth's supposed girlfriend Molly is
also a fake. Alex uses her lawyer tactics on Molly until she gives in and admits that her and Seth aren't really dating. When
Joey finally convinces Gina to let him hang out with Jake, Jake says he has to leave. Jake throws away a peice of paper tha
Gina had written her number on, and when Joey sees him throw it away, he asks Jake why he isn't going to call her. Not knowing
that Gina and Joey are related, Jake mentions that Gina is kind of trashy, so Joey decides that Jake might not be the best
choice as a friend. Instead, he tells Howard he can be his friend on a trial basis.

have very good people skills, but the night isn’t completely wasted. They find out something about Alex that she neglected
to tell them; she’s married.
Personal Comments: Well first things first - this show looks like its going to be pretty
big!! The hugely popular pilot episode has been followed up brilliantly by this hilarious episode. Joeys talents with the
ladies again come to the forefront and this episode is a must see!

Joey - The Pilot (101)
Episode 1 - The Pilot Produced by: Scott Silveri, Shana Goldberg-Meehan and Kevin
S. Bright Air Date: September 9th 2004
To give his acting career a boost, Joey heads out on
his own to LA. After accidentally ending up in Texas instead of California, and being redirected by a cab driver to the right
place, he meets up with his sister Gina, a hairdresser (Drea de Matteo from “The Sopranos”) and her 20-year-old
son, a rocket scientist. Gina sets her brother up with an apartment, but when Joey gets to LA, Michael takes interest in the
place, and the two move in together. Gina struggles with the fact that Michael is growing up, and is jealous of his and Joey’s
relationship. To pursue his acting, Joey goes out to audition for several shows, and turns down a male nurses show for a violent
one. The violent show ends up being cancelled though, and the male nurse show is a big hit. Joey gets a note from his super
telling him not to use an unsanctioned grill, which he is upset over because “being able to grill year-round is the
one thing good about LA.” Sympathizing with him, Alex gives him a list of good restaurants that she suggests he check
out sometime. However, Joey notices that the writing on Alex’s note resembles that of the super’s note. When he
confronts her, she admits that she is the assistant super and her husband is the super. She didn’t want to tell him,
because she thought they were getting along well, and she didn’t want to scare him off.
While LeBlanc plays the same character he has been playing
for more than 10 years, he will have to change without the backing of his Friends.
But as he says, mostly to the loyal Friends fans in the show's
feel-good funny ending: "Change is good."
Although there have been successful spin-offs of blockbuster
shows, such as Frasier from Cheers, there have also been the not-so-successful, like The Golden Palace, which featured some
of the original cast from Golden Girls.
It remains to be seen if Joey from Friends has what it takes
to pull it off.
While the pilot leaves you a little uncertain, it seems that
after the first episode, Joey is doin' pretty good.
Comments from me: I think the show has all the promise to become a major hit in the US and the UK. It showed that
the comedy is still their with part of the team from Friends and aside from some seemingly poor jokes it was very funny. The
characters seem to have gelled already and that can only be a good thing for the future of the show.
