at the peoples choice awards
~ Joey may be getting its first awards from the peoples coice awards after
getting to nominations. Matt Le Blanc has been nominated as favourite male TV star for his role in Joey and Joey itself has

~ It's fun being on the Friends spinoff Joey, says costar Coolidge, who plays Matt LeBlanc's agent – and one of the more comedic moments recently
took place offscreen, when Jennifer Aniston visited the set. "She was filming a movie near Joey and she came to visit Matt,"
Coolidge told us at a recent L.A. gala celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Groundlings comedy troupe, of which she is
an alum. "She's such a huge star, beautiful and so nice. She said hi and went to hug me and I was totally unprepared for the
hug, so I moved into this horribly awkward position. She must have thought I was the biggest ass."
~ Joey turns producer! LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter)
- After successfully transitioning from "Friends" to the spin-off "Joey," actor Matt LeBlanc is ready for another segue --
into producing.
LeBlanc is close to selling the first project from his Warner Bros. TV-based company Fort Hill Prods.
to the WB Network.
"The Prince," a drama from feature writer Jesse Wigutow, revolves around a rich New York family
and the relationship between the father and the younger son after the older son's death.
LeBlanc and Wigutow are executive
producing the WBTV project, which is close to receiving a script commitment from the network.
After his 10-year run
as the simple-minded but charismatic Joey Tribbiani on NBC's "Friends," LeBlanc continues with the character in the series
"Joey," which, after a solid start, received a full-season pickup last week.
WBTV, producer of both "Friends" and
"Joey," now boasts three of the six "Friends" stars -- LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox -- on its producer roster.
LeBlanc
was most recently seen on the big screen in "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle."
Wigutow, who penned the Michael Douglas-Kirk
Douglas starrer "It Runs in the Family" for MGM, is adapting F. Scott Fitzgerald's "Tender Is the Night" for Fox

run of 13 episodes will be extended to 22.

a successful spin-off.
Joey has averaged 16.4 million viewers overall in its first three episodes after debuting in
the plum Thursday night slot vacated by Friends.
However, audiences have dropped from the 18.6 million who tuned in
to watch the first episode, while viewing figures are still well below those who regularly tuned in to Friends.

~The second episode of Joey premiered on Thursday and, with
the help of Will and Grace, it managed to beat off the premiere of "Survivor" and hold strong for large viewing figures. NBC's Thursday night rating surged
28 percent versus last week in the key demographic of adults 18-49, despite increasing competition this week, including the
season premiere of the CBS series "Survivor."
From 8-8:36 p.m. ET, the second episode of "Joey" (approximately
6.6 rating, 19 share in adults 18-49, 14.9 million viewers overall) delivered a powerful 88 percent of last week's premiere
rating, despite facing the debut of "Survivor" on CBS. This tops the average week-two retention rate for "Friends" over the
past six seasons, which has been 86 percent (90 percent in 2003; 88 percent in 2002; 93 percent in 2001; 85 percent in 2000;
80 percent in 1999; 81 percent in 1998).
Last week, The Matt LeBlanc starrer "Joey" topped the weekly program rankings in total viewers and adults 18-49.

show among adults 18-34, women 18-34 and women 18-49.

had said that he wanted one of the old gang to appear on the show. According to the producers, Jennifer Aniston was the natural
choice.

out with Matt" says a source. (14/09/04)
~ Joey premiered on thursday on NBC and has opened to fairly warm receptions.
However, the estimated 18.6 million viewers is nowhere near the figures gained by Friends at any time last year. These are
slightly dissapointing figures for Matt Le Blanc and NBC, showing friends was something very special. Despite this, Joey can
take heart from the fact that the show gathered the largest audience among the advertiser-friendly 18-to-49-year-old age group
of any other entertainment show since May. It was also the best-rated 8 p.m. comedy premiere for NBC in 14 years. (09/09/04)
~Former Friends star Matt LeBlanc was terrified
when a tire on his Harley Davidson motorcyle burst last week. The actor, who is currently filming Friends spin-off sitcom
Joey, was driving around Los Angeles, when the back wheel began having problems and he began swerving all over the road. Luckily,
LeBlanc was able to bring the bike safely to a halt and was assisted by fellow motorists, who recognized the famous star.
Had Matt been seriously injured Joey may never have hit the screen at all! (02/09/04)
~ Matt Le Blanc has been officially named as one of the presenters
of this years 56th annual emmy awards in the US. He will be working along side Sarah Jessica Parker from "Sex and the city"
on September 19th. Matt has also been nominated for an award for his role as Joey Tribianni in "Friends". (30/08/04)
~Five has snapped
up the Friends spin-off Joey. The broadcaster signed the deal after Channel 4 pulled out. The show follows Matt LeBlanc's
character Joey Tribbiani as he tries his luck in Hollywood. It airs on US network NBC this autumn and will come to Five in
the New Year. The much-hyped show was the subject of a fierce bidding war and Five is estimated to have paid more than £250,000
per episode. "We are pleased that Five has acquired the UK rights to Joey, which we expect will follow in the tradition
of Friends, a series that was as popular in the UK as it was in the US," said Jeffrey Schlesinger of Warner Bros, makers of
the show. But it is unlikely to match the success of Friends. The final episode drew a record audience of 8.6 million
when it was screened in May. And a Channel 4 insider said the pilot for Joey did not live up to the standards of the original.
As part of the deal with Warner Bros, Five has also acquired Charlie Sheen sitcom Two And A Half Men.
